Please don’t divorce us: Overturn Prop 8 in CA and Section 337 in India
You have to see this slide show about gay marriage related proposition that got passed in CA.
Passing of prop 8 in CA will essentially divorce all the gay couples who got married; we can’t let that happen.
Of all people, we understand what sexuality is and what love is – please don’t divorce these people and break 32,000 hearts!

Sexy Holi pictures
Ok, technically, these are not Holi pictures but Phagwah pictures – Phagwah is the holi celebration in Indo-Caribbean hindu community.
There is a lot of romance during the holi time, just not as overt as this one.
I know a lot of you have fantasies of playing holi with other couples in more freeer and wonton way – with clothing optional or with full desi clothing.

The Love Mattress: Modern Sleeping Solutions for Couples
I can use a mattress like this “love mattress”. There have been times, when I wished the mattress provided more “traction” and a place to anchor the foot for all the activities one might want to indulge in. Especially if you or your lover is in to satin sheets, you want to push but you just slide off! And how often you want to snuggle up but the positioning is always awkward.
This would be perfect.
Mehdi Mojtabvi’s Love Mattress offers a simple solution. A solid unit makes up the middle portion of the bed, with several adjoining strips of foam connected at either end. Between these slats one can drop their shoulder or arm, allowing for a much more comfortable sleeping position while remaining all snuggled up. The whole mattress can be covered in standard linen. Not bad!

Sex for the motherland: Russian youths encouraged to procreate at camp
Saw this interesting story about mass marriage and follow on procreation activities at the camp.
Nashi’s annual camp, 200 miles outside Moscow, is attended by 10,000 uniformed youngsters and involves two weeks of lectures and physical fitness.
Attendance is monitored via compulsory electronic badges and anyone who misses three events is expelled. So are drinkers; alcohol is banned. But sex is encouraged, and condoms are nowhere on sale.
Bizarrely, young women are encouraged to hand in thongs and other skimpy underwear – supposedly a cause of sterility – and given more wholesome and substantial undergarments.
I can live with no booze and no drugs but let the woman keep their thongs, please.
Humans are naturally polygamous
Came across a nice article in Psychology Today. It is by Alan S. Miller Ph.D., Satoshi Kanazawa Ph.D. They have a book coming out called Why Beautiful People Have More Daughters in late 2007.
We know that humans have been polygamous throughout most of history because men are taller than women.
Among primate and nonprimate species, the degree of polygyny highly correlates with the degree to which males of a species are larger than females. The more polygynous the species, the greater the size disparity between the sexes. Typically, human males are 10 percent taller and 20 percent heavier than females. This suggests that, throughout history, humans have been mildly polygynous.
Relative to monogamy, polygyny creates greater fitness variance (the distance between the “winners” and the “losers” in the reproductive game) among males than among females because it allows a few males to monopolize all the females in the group. The greater fitness variance among males creates greater pressure for men to compete with each other for mates. Only big and tall males can win mating opportunities. Among pair-bonding species like humans, in which males and females stay together to raise their children, females also prefer to mate with big and tall males because they can provide better physical protection against predators and other males.
Although I am a great fan of Evolutionary Biology, I am not sure if I always buy these arguments.
Also, I am not suggesting that alternative life style or swinging has anything to do with being polygamous. In fact it actually goes against the argument. In polygamous situations (in humans and in primates) there is a great deal of jealousy and and all the indicia of “possessiveness” present; in the swinging lifestyle that is not the case.
Swinging is more evolved, sophisticated and thoughtful response to hedonistic impulses. If it was as primal, one would see a lot more manifestation of it.
